About Robb's Electric

A licensed, bonded, and insured electrical contractor, second-generation family owned since 1964, based in Carver and working across the Twin Cities metro.

Our story

Robb's Electric opened in Carver in 1964, and for more than six decades we have been wiring homes and buildings across the west metro. The company grew the way local trade companies do: one panel, one service call, one builder relationship at a time, until the phone rang often enough that the reputation did the selling. It is still a family business, now run by the second generation.

Today we work out of the shop on Broadway in Carver and cover the west metro and the Lake Minnetonka communities as our core service area, with work across the broader Twin Cities metro as well. We handle residential, commercial, and industrial electrical, though homes and service calls are the majority of it. We are also part of a family of companies, which is why a job that turns out to need utility-scale underground or dedicated fiber crews can be handed to the right people rather than forced to fit.

The through-line has not changed in sixty years. Show up when we said, find the actual problem, price it honestly before we start, and do the work so nobody has to come back for it.

Licensed, bonded, insured, and warrantied

Robb's Electric is a licensed electrical contractor (license EA001548), bonded and insured, and every job we do carries a one-year warranty on labor and materials. In practice those facts answer different questions: the license means the work is done by people the state has qualified, bonding and insurance mean you are protected if something goes wrong, and the warranty means that if what we installed does not hold up, coming back is our problem rather than your next expense.

Estimates are free, so finding out what a job costs never costs anything. We pull permits on work that requires them and we meet the inspectors, which is not the fastest way to run a job but is the only way to leave a homeowner with documentation that holds up at resale or on a claim.

How we work

Six things we do not negotiate on

None of this is complicated. It is just the part of contracting that gets dropped first when a company gets busy.

Licensed people, not helpers

The work is done by licensed electricians who can explain what they found and why the fix is the fix. If we are not sure, we say so and find out.

The honest number

You get a price before we start and the reasoning behind it. When the cheaper option is the right one, we tell you that, even when the bigger job pays better.

We answer the phone

During office hours a real person picks up, not a queue. Most complaints about contractors are really complaints about communication, so we keep that part simple.

Permitted and inspected

Work that needs a permit gets one, and we meet the inspector. That documentation is what protects you at resale and on an insurance claim.

Clean job sites

Drop cloths down, debris hauled out, panel labeled legibly. The state we leave a house in is part of the work, not a favor.

Still here in year ten

We install equipment we can service, and our work carries a one-year warranty on labor and materials. Sixty years in one metro is only possible if you go back when something needs it.

Why homeowners and builders stay with us

Most of our work is repeat business or a referral, which is a harder standard than winning a bid once.
